Where Did The Time Go?

March 07, 2017 | By Chuck

On Tuesday morning March 7, 2017 I dropped our 14-year-old 9th grader off at the high school to begin tryouts for the girl's high school basketball team. High school, what? Just last week I was rocking her to sleep. It was just yesterday that I helped coach her team when she was a 6 th grader. High school, are you kidding me? Where did the time go? I'm sure you know exactly where I am and how I feel. Our kids grow up way too fast. The reality of the situation is that time in this life just passes so quickly. We live and plan like we'll be here forever. What we need to do is cherish our brief time with our families. My heart revolves around the time I'm able to spend with my family. Realizing how quickly this life passes also challenges me to live in a way so that I can live forever. Did you catch that? We need to live for God in this life so that we can live forever with Him in the next life. "You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you. Each man's life is but a breath."(Psalm 39:5) "What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes."(James 4:14)
