The Relevance of Jesus

We live in a time and in a society that doesn't see the relevance of Jesus. You know as well as I do that if something doesn't seem relevant to us then we give it no attention. We are just too busy to give any time to something that isn't applicable to our lives right now. I'm afraid that many today see Jesus as a crutch that 'religious people" use to get through difficult times in life. Christians discuss, pray, study and debate over exactly why the church isn't growing. Is it that we don't have enough programs? Could it be that we don't do enough in the community? I really and truly wonder if the church isn't growing today simply because people don't see the relevance of Jesus. Many don't get the simple fact that Jesus will be a blessing to their lives. There are those who miss the fact that Jesus will help them with the issues they struggle with in this life. We Christians know for a fact just how relevant Jesus is in our everyday lives. So what do we do? As Christians we need to share with others exactly what Jesus has done in our lives. Think about it, what has Jesus done in your life? "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."(Mt.11:28) Chuck Ball
