Something To Look Forward To

It helps having something to look forward to. The soon to be bride counts the days until her big wedding day. The expecting couple looks so forward to meeting their newborn baby. I'm sure everyone looks forward to their vacation time away from work or school. Having something to look forward to helps us to remain focused and motivated on the task at hand. The upcoming Christmas break should help teachers and students to press on to complete this semester. The same is true in our spiritual lives. As Christians, no matter how difficult life becomes and no matter how discouraged you are, we always have heaven to look forward to. "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life."(John 5:24) We do face hardships in this life. (John 16:33) Having heaven to look forward to should give us the strength and motivation to endure anything life brings our way. Having heaven to look forward to should ground us in spiritual matters and mature us spiritually. Having heaven to look forward to should help us to keep our eyes on Jesus and be faithful to Him. Christian, remember, every day you do have something to look forward to.
