Peace From God

Last time I wrote about "Peace With God" which speaks of our relationship with God. There is also a peace we have from God which is the result of having peace with God. Confused yet? My point is there is a difference between "Peace With God" and "Peace From God". "Peace With God" is being in a covenant relationship with God through His Son Jesus and therefore, at peace with God. "Peace From God" is the peace that we have from God because we have a relationship with Him and are at peace with Him. "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus".(Phil.4:7) Notice this peace we receive from God "transcends all understanding". That means that we can't understand or explain the peace we receive from God. We know that Christians aren't immune to difficulties in this life. We all go through trying and uncomfortable times but Christians can have peace no matter the circumstances. I've watched Christians who endured terrible tragedy in their lives and as much as they hurt physically or emotionally they still possessed that peace from God. It's difficult to comprehend a peace that exists even through tragedy and heartache. The only plausible explanation for a peace that sees us through our darkest hours is that it's a peace that could only come from God. "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you."(John 14:27)
