Letting Go Of My Faith

May 04, 2017 | By Chuck

For nearly twenty years now I've been teaching people to cling to their faith no matter what. Life throws a lot of difficulties our way and in the midst of the worst situations I hold tightly to my faith and I encourage others to do the same. It's our faith in God that anchors us when the storms of life blow us all over the place. Our faith is really what makes us who we are and what we do. It's our faith that should dictate how we will act and respond to others. Faith is the foundation to a relationship with God. "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him."(Heb.11:6) Faith is the most important aspect of the Christian's life, and now I'm about to tell you how I must let go of my Faith. Sounds strange, right? Well, just keep reading. In approximately two weeks, on Friday May 19, 2017, Cabot High School will have its graduation and that's the night I'll be letting go of my Faith. On that night our second child, Faith, will graduate high school and I'll be clinging to my faith while letting go of my Faith all at the same time. As she walks across that stage and receives her diploma I'll no doubt be letting go so she can become the woman God has called her to be. I have no clue where the time went and I'm sure every parent of a 2017 senior feels the same way. Congratulations to every 2017 Senior. My prayer for each of you is that as we parents begin letting go, that you will begin to grip tightly and hold close to your heart the faith that we have shared with you. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight."(Prov.3:5-6)
