Kindness Counts

The holiday season is upon us yet again. One thing I enjoy about the holiday season is the kindness I see expressed. Maybe it's just me, but I tend to believe that people show more kindness during the holidays. Maybe it's because people are thinking about slowing down and enjoying some family time. It could be that more kindness is seen during these later months of the year because with Christmas fast approaching people are thinking more about Jesus. Of course these are uneducated guesses at best. It really doesn't matter to me the reason for it, I'm just glad to see kindness shown to others. No matter the season or time of year. No matter what is going on in the world or in our lives, we Christians are supposed to show kindness. Kindness is the way we treat others and one of those things God expects His children to take seriously and practice. "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." (Col.3:12) "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."(Eph.4:32) It's the simple and small acts of kindness that seem to go so far with people. It's those same simple acts that show kindness counts and that we are striving to be like Jesus in how we treat others.
