Grieving Through The Holidays
November 15, 2017 | By Chuck
The holidays are fast approaching and for many, this is the most wonderful time of year. Beautiful decorations, cooler temperatures, a little time away from work and plenty of time catching up with family and loved ones. No wonder it's the most wonderful time of year, right? Well, we need to understand that it's not the most wonderful time of year for everyone. It may be difficult for some to understand, but there are those who anxiously dread the holiday season every year. For them, the holidays represent a time of sadness and grief. Even though they are surrounded by family and friends, they still feel alone and sadness because they miss a specific loved one who has passed on. This Sunday afternoon at 2 o"clock we are hosting "Surviving The Holidays" at the Cabot Church of Christ building. This is part of our Grief Share ministry and is open to anyone who has lost a loved one and is struggling with the thought of facing the upcoming holiday season. I have personally benefited from Grief Share and I've watched others benefit from it as well. "Surviving The Holidays" will help you to gain a plan on how to handle the holiday season without your loved one. It will also introduce you to the Grief Share ministry that I assure you is helpful to all who are grieving. We have many friends and loved ones who will be grieving through the holidays this year. Let's be mindful, prayerful and understanding of their delicate circumstances. "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God."(II Cor.1:3-4)
