Freedom Comes With A Price

"Freedom Comes With A Price" If there is one thing we all want it's freedom. We are so fortunate to live in a free country and enjoy all the many freedoms that we have on a daily basis. Freedom is something that we should never take for granted because freedom isn't free. The freedom you and I enjoy every day comes with a price. So many men and women past and present have fought and are fighting for our freedom. Many have lost lives for our freedom and those who survived sacrificed time away from their families and even physical and emotional trauma. Freedom comes with a price. The spiritual freedom that we enjoy as Christians also comes with a price. "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery."(Gal.5:1) In the context of Galatians 5, Paul is referring to how Christ had set them free from the burden of the Law of Moses by his death on the cross. Through His death on the cross Jesus also set us free from sin. Don't misunderstand; we weren't set free by Jesus at the cross so that we could sin more. Jesus freed us from sin so that we could enjoy forgiveness of sins in Christ and have the hope of eternal life in heaven. Our freedom from sin cost God the life of His Son Jesus. Chuck Ball
