Do We Make The Most Of Opportunities
September 08, 2016 | By Chuck
"Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity."(Col.4:5) I love this little passage. This is a verse that should convict and challenge every one of us. We have opportunities every day to bless the lives of others by our kind words or actions. The question is, do we do it? Do we make the most of these opportunities? Paul is specifically referring to making the most of the opportunities we have with "outsiders". The "outsiders" are those outside of Christ and the very one's whom we want to help to become insiders in Christ. We literally have visitors at both morning services every single Sunday. That is an incredible opportunity that we all should recognize and do something about. How do we do that? What exactly am I talking about? Be friendly to visitors who have joined us for worship. Our top priority on Sunday after worship should be finding a visitor or someone we don't know and introducing ourselves. Even if it means leaving a conversation with someone, please do so and be kind and welcoming to the visitor. Brothers and sisters we have one opportunity to make a good first impression. Let's do our part and make the most of the opportunities that God gives us each week.
