Convictions

"I am under obligation both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to the wise and to the foolish. So I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome. For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek"(Rom.1:14-16). There's no doubt that Paul was a man of strong convictions. Three different convictions are mentioned in the above text. Paul was convicted about his obligation to all lost people, his eagerness to preach the gospel and not being ashamed of the gospel. A conviction is a strongly held belief. I love Paul's convictions. Honestly, I believe all Christians should possess these same convictions Paul had. The church and the world benefits if all Christians are convicted about their obligation to lost people. What if Christians were "eager" to share the gospel message of salvation with others? If only Christians lived every day unashamed of the gospel and their relationship with God. Do your personal convictions align with Paul's? I can only imagine the difference a world of convicted Christians could make. "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age"(Mt.28:19-20).
