Confidence Where It Counts

We know how important it is to have confidence. In fact, we strive to build confidence within our children. It helps having some level of belief in yourself when it comes to fulfilling the task. Your task may be work related, school related or simply improving at your chosen extracurricular activity or hobby. Whatever it is, having confidence only helps you to achieve your personal goals. As Christians, we should have confidence in our salvation. How many faithful Christians aren't sure of their eternal destination? How many faithful Christians "hope" they go to heaven when they die? I understand that everyone hopes they go to heaven. Brothers and sisters, Christians should "know" they are going to heaven. Hoping for heaven is having no confidence in your salvation and can breed fear and even lead some to giving up on God. How can we effectively lead others to salvation in Christ, when we have no confidence in our own salvation? I believe with all of my heart that God wants us to have confidence in our salvation in Him. I believe that confidence in our salvation in Christ is confidence where it counts. This confidence in our salvation will lead to more involvement in the church and spiritual growth. Having confidence in our salvation will give us peace and comfort when the world says we shouldn't have either. We need to be confident people who have confidence where it counts, and that is in our salvation in Jesus. "I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life."(I Jno.5:13)
