A Mother's Influence

"A Mother's Influence" "She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her."(Prov.31:27-28) I'm never surprised when the athlete, after scoring a touchdown, hitting a homerun or winning the big game, turns to the camera and says, "Hi Mom". It doesn't surprise me at all because his mother has influenced him his whole life. It may be that our mothers are the single most influential people in our lives. Many people influence us throughout our lives but our mother has been there since the beginning and has influenced so many of our decisions. When a child is sick, afraid or in need most of the time he wants his mother. That speaks volumes for the influence of a mother. Sunday is Mother's Day which should be a very important day to us all and a day in which we honor our mothers. Mother's do so much for us from the time we come into this world and even after we're grown adults. According to the above cited Scripture mother's watch over their family and they put off their much needed rest to care, provide and enjoy their family. A mother's children should arise and call her blessed and not just on this Mother's Day holiday but every single day. A mother's influence goes much farther than childhood, middle school or even high school. A mother's influence runs deep into the heart of her children and far outlasts the test of time. Happy Mother's Day to the most influential people on the planet! Chuck Ball
